To join a wire 2 to the braid of a coaxial cable 1, the wires are first crossed, and resin chips 15 and 16 placed above and below. A low melting point welding material 17, eg solder, is placed either between or next to the wires. The structure is then subjected to ultrasonic oscillations, which melt the insulation between the wires, melt the material 17 to connect the wires and weld the resin chips together to insulate the connection. |
