PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road information providing system and a road information contents server capable of rapidly and easily accessing a desired road information providing system through a simple operation by having the function of providing a contents menu (selection screen) using a user's position information. SOLUTION: The contents server 21, if accessed from a cellular phone 10, asks a position information server about the position of the accessing cellular phone 10 via a special line and selects, based on this position information acquired, a road information providing system that provides the road information guidance best-suited for the user's current travel position, from among a plurality of road information providing systems 31, 32,...3N that constitute a road information service system 30. Road information contents (selection screen information) with the access number of that system are then transmitted to the accessing cellular phone 10 via the Internet.
