The actuator is enclosed in part by a chamber (27) in which a pressure prevails which is greater than the pressure prevailing in the area surrounding the chamber. The actuator can be formed by a conveyor chain and the chamber can be formed by guide rails conveying the chain, and a holder supporting same which together with the guide rails (24,25) forms an inner space having an open longitudinal side (28) and remaining closed elsewhere.
