In a sequence control apparatus for controlling a production apparatus, and in a control system using this sequence control apparatus, the production apparatus and sequence control apparatus are turned into objects in order to easily prepare a control program for carrying out the monitoring of and maintenance for the system, and the parts of the objects which depend upon the kind of the sequence control apparatus are concealed in the interior of the objects. In order to handle a case where a plurality of sequence control apparatuses are connected in the same network, the objects are provided therein with discriminators unique to the interior of networks, and means for controlling the transmission and reception of instructions and information between a control program and objects.
