<p>Methods and apparatus for selecting staple positions for printed documents are disclosed. A system and method for printing documents is disclosed which provide a user with extended staple position options. A user of a printer may specify where he wishes staples to be put into his document. The user is provided with a view of a sheet of paper on his computer screen, and can select with his mouse where he wants the staples to be put. By knowing the paper size, feed orientation and image orientation, the printer driver can then map the user's selected staple positions to the physical capabilities of the printer. The printer driver instructs the printer controller of the stapling position for the job, and how much rotation (if any) the controller should apply to the image before printing. <IMAGE></p> |
