A composite moulding, comprising inorganically or organically bonded or co-sintered irregular stress-free closed-cell inorganic (especially glass) foam bodies, is new. A composite moulding comprises densely packed, loose, lightly compacted or compressed, irregular, sharp-edged, stress-free, closed cell inorganic foam bodies of dissimilar sizes which have been physically bonded together either by an inorganic or organic binder, such that the moulding remains stress-free even when exposed to large temperature variations, or by co-sintering. An Independent claim is also included for production of the above composite moulding. |
