<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a spot defect from being generated in a visible image display area of a liquid crystal panel by preventing a contact defect from being generated between a nonlinear element and a pixel electrode of the liquid crystal display device owing to an etching process. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display device has the pixel electrode 6 formed on a substrate 3a and the nonlinear element 11 including a 2nd electrode connected electrically to the pixel electrode 6, and the tip part of the pixel electrode 6 which is formed on the electrode 14 included in the nonlinear element 11 is formed on the 2nd electrode pattern while covering a step part of the 1st electrode, preferably, over the entire area of the electrode 14.</p> |
