PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin modifier excellent in antistatic properties by mixing and kneading a copolymer formed from anα-olefin, a maleic diester, and a polyoxyalkylene allyl ether in a specified ratio with a polyolefin modified with a carboxylic acid or anhydride. SOLUTION: A copolymer comprising (A) structural units of formula I, (B) structural units of formula II, and (C) structural units of formula III, the ratio of A:B:C being (10-50):(40-60):(15-40) provided A+B+C is 100, is used. In the formulas, R is a 10-50C (on average) alkyl; R<1> is a 2-10C alkylene; n (on average) is 2-20; and R<2> and R<3> are each a 1-10C alkyl. The copolymer and the modified polyolefin may be chemically bonded to each other. This resin modifier is compounded pref. in an amt. of 5-40 pts.wt. into 100 pts.wt. thermoplastic resin. The wt. average mol.wt. of the copolymer is pref. 1,000-50,000.
