PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color projection device which has good color balance and high efficiency and is small-sized at low cost. SOLUTION: A color wheel CW splits the white light from a lighting system OP1 into two color lights of different wavelength components and change the color components of the color lights with time by rotation. Transmission liquid crystal panels P1 and P2 modulate the split color lights corresponding to the changes over aging. Further, the color wheel CW puts images of the two modulated color lights together. A projection optical system OP2 projects the composite color image on a screen SC. |
