PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the compact absorber without its operation being suspended even in the regeneration of an ion exchanger at the time of removing a material to be removed in the gas by the ion-exchange process. SOLUTION: This waste gas absorber is provided with the main body 1, plural ion-exchange parts 9 closely arranged in the main body 1 in parallel, a gas passage opening and closing means 12 provided respectively to each of the ion-exchange parts 9 and plural regenerating soln. supply means 16 for separately supplying the regenerating soln. to an ion exchanger set in the respective ion-exchange parts 9. Consequently, since the respective ion-exchange parts are successively regenerated at regular intervals of time, the ion-exchange parts except the one under regeneration are indessantly operated as such, and the operation of the absorber need not be suspended for the regeneration.
