PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject double-sided adhesive tape not broken even on the high speed processing of paper, capable of being efficiently detected with a metal detector at a paper-joining portion and useful for joining paper on the processing of the paper by using a substrate obtained by laminating a metal foil having a specific thickness to a plastic film having a specified thickness. SOLUTION: This double-sided adhesive tape is obtained by coating (B) an adhesive 1 on both the surfaces of (A) a substrate obtained by laminating a metal foil 4 to one surface of a 20-50μm thick plastic film 2 by a dry lamination method, an extrusion method, etc., and, if necessary, disposing (C) release paper 5 on one surface of the tape. The double-sided adhesive tape expresses functions which comprises facilitating a process for joining plural or more paper rolls to each other, the removal of the tape at a finishing stage, etc., and largely improving the workability of paper processing, when the paper as a substrate is coated with a chemical agent or processed using the plural paper rolls.
