PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for driving and positioning a belt-driven rotary table capable of being compatible high servo rigidity with high oscillation limitation during driving and positioning. SOLUTION: Idler pulleys 21, 22 are provided for bending a belt 17 bridged between a driving pulley and a rotary table 12 to the direction of increasing a winding center angleθm to the driving pulley 18b and a control means is provided for feedbacking a table position signal and a table speed signal found from the signal and a motor rotating speed signal to produce a motor drive signal.
