PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a telephone system to easily utilize a call originating side telephone number and a caller name sent from an exchange. SOLUTION: When it is judged that the telephone directory key of an operating part 25 is turned on with respect to the call originating side telephone number and the caller name sent from the exchange through a telephone line, it is judged whether a call originating side telephone number and a caller name or the like corresponding to an ICM under reproducing at present are stored on a DRAM 21 or not. When it is judged that they are stored, it is judged whether there is a space in the registration field of automatic dials (abbreviated dials) or not. When it is judged that there is a space in the automatic dials (abbreviated dials), the call originating side telephone number and the caller name corresponding to the ICM under reproducing at present are registered as a telephone number, which can be automatically dialed, corresponding to the small number of free abbreviated numbers.
