PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct an elevated road upward of a road or a railway without requiring any excessive area acquisition while serving for the existing road or railway as it is. SOLUTION: Lower structure 10 of a road viaduct is so constituted that frame construction 13 is constituted of a pair of columnar piers 11 and 11 erected at positions opposed to each other and a beam 12 built on the tops of the columnar piers 11 and, at the same time, inverted V-brace members 14 are arranged in an in-plane space including a pair of columnar piers 11 and 11 and the beam 12. The brace members 14 are so constituted that the neighborhoods of the tops of them are connected to the neighborhood of the central part of the beam 12 through an energy absorption damper 15 and, at the same time, that both lower ends thereof are connected respectively to the neighborhoods of the bases of a pair of columnar piers 11 and 11. |
