PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for generating caster data with which raster data can be efficiently generated. SOLUTION: A page description data generating part 6 generates respective page description data while separating a page image, in which images and characters are arranged, into the arrangement information of images only and the arrangement information of characters only. The image page description data are sent to a coarse image replacing part 7 and character page description data are sent to a character raster data generating part 8a. The coarse image replacing part 7 replaces the images included in the image page description data with the images of high resolution and sends these page description data to an image raster data generating part 8b. A caster data synthesizing part 8c synthesizes raster data generated by the respective caster data generating parts 8a and 8b and generates the raster data of the entire page image. Therefore, when correcting the page image, it is enough only to generate the raster data of a corrected object. |
