PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a carrier which can be applied irrespective of the composition of a glass fiber and whose measuring sensitivity can be enhanced by constituting at least its surface of a silicon compound which is expressed by a specific formula. SOLUTION: At least the surface of a carrier for immunoassay is constituted of silicon compounds which are expressed by Formula I and Formula II. In the Formula I and Formula II, R<1> to R<4> , X and Y respectively independently represent hydrogen, a substituted organic group, or a nonsubstituted organic group, (a) represents an integer of 0 to about 5000, and (b) represents an integer of about 3 to 20. At this time, it is preferable that R<1> to R<4> are respectively independently hydrogen, a 1 to 6C alkyl group, a 1 to 6C alkoxyl group, or a phenyl group and that X and Y are respectively independently hydrogen, a silanol group, a 1 to 6C alkoxyl group, or an amino group. In addition, the diameter of a glass fiber used as a base body is suitably about 0.1 to 100 μm and preferably about 0.5 to 2.0 μm. |
