PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an excellent image having less fogging and whose irregular ity is inconspicuous at a half tone area and a high density part by suppressing concealment due to detection error by the MTF (spatial modulation transmission factor) characteristics of a photoreceptor surface electrometer to a minimum. SOLUTION: With this method for forming the image, the surface potential V(x) of a photoreceptor 1 mainly constituted of amorphous silicon is measured by a surface potential sensor 8. Whether or not the minimum potential value Vmin of the measured surface potential is >=400 V is examined. The current supplied to a primary electrifying device 2 is increased when the Vmin is not >=400 V, so that the Vmin is adjusted to be >=400 V. Thus, the lightening time for laser light is adjusted in accordance with a dark potential in a state where the Vmin is >=400 V. |
