PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly control a mode to be switched between 'an acceleration mode' in which a motor is driven to assist an engine and 'a cruising mode' in which the motor is not driven. SOLUTION: A mode-switching means M1 switches a mode between αan acceleration mode' in which a motor M is driven in accordance with an engine revolution and a throttle opening rate to assist an engine and 'a cruising mode', in which a motor M is not driven. A gradient detecting means M2 detects the gradient of a road according to the vehicle speed, the engine revolution, a shift position, the throttle opening rate, and a suction negative pressure. A threshold correcting means M3 changes the threshold of the throttle opening rate, when the mode switching means M1 switched the mode for facilitating the transfer to 'the acceleration mode', if the uphill gradient of the road is steep and to make the transfer to 'the acceleration mode' difficult, if the uphill gradient of the road is gentle to improve the drivability of the vehicle and to save electrical energy. |
