PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively perform blow-off work on backwashing, thereby sufficiently reducing pressure loss at every backwashing work, and to enable continuous use for a long period of time. SOLUTION: In this filter element 8, a coating layer of fluororesin particles is formed on the surface of a sinteres compact that low molecular weight polyethylene particles A of 100-200μm average particle size and polyethylene base particles B of 200-400μm average particle size are mixed in the range of A/B of 80/20-30/70 (% by weight) and heated and sintered. In this case, a method of blowing off granular substance cake stuck on the surface thereof is provided. That is, by making the maximum deflection of the filter element 8 be 0.01-0.20% of the longitudinal length of the filter element 8, the deposited granular substance is blown off as it is left lumpy.
