IMPRESSION EVALUATION METHOD AND DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To subjectively evaluate the impression a person who takes the makeup advice based on the features of his face image by obtaining a regression expression between the feature value of face images of plural persons and the evaluation value of the face impression and calculating the evaluation value of the face impression of a subject person based on the feature value of the face image of the subject person. SOLUTION: A regression expression is previously obtained between the feature values of face images of plural persons and the evaluation value of expressions of the faces calculated on a prescribed evaluation axis. Then the evaluation value of the face expression of a subject person is calculated based on the feature value of the face image of the subject person. This evaluation device 10 consists of an image input device 1, an information input device 2, a computer 3 and an information display device 4 (including a monitor 4a and a printer 4b). The computer 3 has a calculation function to output the evaluation value of the face impression of the subject person from the feature value of the face image of the subject person based on the regression expression obtained between the prepared feature value of the face image and evaluation value of the face impression calculated on a prescribed evaluation axis.
