<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet processor that operates on a maximum number of stacked paper sheets set in consideration for the presence or absence of stapling processes or others and for differences in paper sheet size. SOLUTION: A plurality of sensors are disposed, i.e., an intermediate position sensor 12 and a lowermost position sensor 13, to detect the position of an ejection tray 10 adapted to lower according to the number of paper sheets stacked thereon. These sensors 12 and 13 are set to work on detecting paper sheets of respective preset numbers that are allowed to be stacked on the ejection tray 10. Prior to processing, the maximum number of stacked paper sheets is set properly by a control part according to the presence or absence of stapling processes on paper sheets yet to be processed and/or their size. When paper sheets are sequentially ejected out in a pile on the ejection tray 10 until either sensor 12 or 13 associated with the maximum stack number thus set detects the ejection tray 10, the control part suspends the processing and commands a display part or the like to give a message or others that demand the ejected paper sheets on the ejection tray 10 be removed. This control allows the paper sheet processor to operate on a maximum number of stacked paper sheets set appropriately in consideration for the stability of a large number of paper sheets stacked up and for their total weight.</p> |
