PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the stabilizing of a tracing control by setting a cycle in which scrambling signals make a round to a length equal to or longer than that of the quantity of information to be included in an information track having the largest storage capacity to eliminate the correlativity between adjacent tracks. SOLUTION: A scrambling means 1 generates an initial value from an initial value storage part 2 based on a sector address signal S1 from a sector address part and generates scrambling signals S2 of M series from an M series generating part 3 based on the initial value and forms a recording signal S4 by performing a scrambling operation while adding the scrambling signals S2 to information signal S3 in an adder 4. At this time, a cycle in which the scrambling signals make a round is set to a length equal to or longer than that of the quantity of information of an outermost peripheral track. Thus, the correlativity between adjacent tracks can be completely eliminated and it is made possible to perform a stable tracking control even when a track pitch is narrowed in order to increase the density of a recording medium. |
