FIELD: mechanical engineering, construction of pumps, compressors etc. SUBSTANCE: floating ring is positioned in casing concentrically to shaft to define with it radial sealing slot with gap delta. Floating ring abuts against casing end to define end joint with it. Spring positioned at side opposite to end joint between floating ring and casing is made in the from of annular flexible member with throttle openings. Such construction allows operational capabilities of sealing units with floating rings, in particular, at transfer modes of operation, to be improved and rotation of floating ring and riveted coat in end joint to be eliminated. It is of particular importance for eliminating burning of pumps adapted for pumping liquid oxygen. EFFECT: enhanced reliability in operation and wider operational capabilities. 1 dwg
