<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low wind pressure wire which can stably achieve an excellent wind pressure load reducing effect as foreign objects that may sticking to the surface of a cover are easily washed away by rainwater, and which can be handled in the same way as current round wires, with the surface of the cover being easy to process by extrusion molding. SOLUTION: Grooves 2 each having a cross section with an arcuate edge line shape are formed on the surface of the insulator 1 of an insulated wire C1 along the longitudinal direction of the insulated wire C1. The grooves 2 are provided by eighteen in such a way as to be equally spaced in the circumferential direction of the insulator 2 and parallel to one another. The insulated wire C1 is selected to meet the expressions: 0.009<=H/D<=0.026, 0.026<=R/D<=0.105, (R/2<=r<=R, 12<=N<=24) and 5<=5.55/(N0.7×(H/D)0.45×(R/D)0.2)<=12 in the range of H/R<=0.75 where D is the outside diameter of the wire, R is the radius of curvature of the grooves, H is the depth of the groove, (r) is the radius of curvature of a portion where each groove joins with the outer peripheral surface of the wire, and N is the number of the grooves.</p> |
