<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ATM traffic control system for preventing a cell, which can not be abandoned, from being automatically abandoned by providing a means for knowing the priority of terminals to compete at the time of call connection and changing the priority on the side of terminals as needed. SOLUTION: On the side of terminal such as at a terminal 21, for example, a quality guarantee QOS notification parameter including a cell transfer importance degree is set to an ATM line connector 27 and a call connection request is sent out. When there is the connection request from the other terminal, the line connector 27 compares the cell transfer importance degrees of respective cells, determines the priority and reports it to the terminal 21. The terminal 21 receives the returned priority and discriminates the level of priority. When the much higher rank is required as a result of discrimination, the cell transfer importance degree is reset higher and the notification is performed again. At such a time, the time limit from the connection request to the renotification reception is provided at the line connector 27.</p> |
