<p>FIELD: centrifugal compressors. SUBSTANCE: centrifugal compressor includes impeller 12 mounted for rotation around central axis and diffuser 26 used for directing the compressed fluid medium to collecting chamber 29. Located after cover disk 28 of impeller is increased pressure chamber 42; set of straightening passages 45 located around impeller 12 are used for communication of collecting chamber 29 with increased pressure chamber 42. Besides that, compressor has set of passages which are used for introducing fluid medium contained in chamber 42 in adjustable modes into escaping from zone of upper tips of impeller blades, thus making it possible to admit fluid medium into outgoing flow without impacts at minimum losses of energy. To maintain constant total rate of flow through diffuser 26 in modes with different loads, adjustable control device 62 controls the flow running through straightening passages.
