<p>A digital video tape recording and reproducing method increases the error correction capability for normal reproducing data by using ECC3 area allocated in an intercoded signals in the operation of an outer coding procedure. The recording method divides (20) the data into normal and trick reproducing data, and allocates (40) an ECC3 area in a predetermined position of a data sync block in which the normal reproducing data area is recorded, and includes the steps of: first outer code error correction coding (41) of the normal reproducing data, after replacing the trick reproducing data and the ECC3 area data with predetermined pattern data, and then adding outer parity data; second outer code error correction coding (42) of the normal reproducing data, after replacing the trick reproducing data coded in said first outer code error correction coding step and additional ECC3 area data with predetermined pattern data, and then adding outer parity; inner code error correction coding (50) of each of the normal and the trick reproducing data, coded by the error correction coding in the above second outer code error correction coding step; and, modulating (60) the normal and trick reproducing data and ECC3 area data, coded by the error correction coding in the above inner code error correction coding step.</p> |
