摘要 FIELD: abrasive materials. SUBSTANCE: abrasive grains based on zirconium corundum with high level of zirconium dioxide tetragonal phase are manufactured by melting aluminum oxide with zirconium dioxide, adding titanium dioxide and carbon observing weight ratio of basic components: zirconium dioxide, aluminum oxide, and titanium dioxide equal to (35-50):(40-63.5): (1.5-10), and rapidly cooling melt. Distinguishing feature of method consists in that titanium dioxide and carbon are added before melting is started and rapid cooling is conducted in such a manner as to ensure level of zirconium dioxide tetragonal phase above 90%.
