A motion device for the human hand comprises an articulated structure for supporting the hand when lying over the dorsal aspect of the hand. Hinge means are provided which have axes of rotation that can be aligned, in use, with the effective axes of rotation of joints in the hand of the user. A motor and drive cable and elastic cords on the device can be operated to extend and flex the hand of the user in a controlled and adjustable manner. The device can be used for therapy of a patient, particularly following injury or surgery to the flexor tendons of the hand. |
