FIELD: foundry, in particular, making of core castings with wide flange from aluminum alloys. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has metal container 1 for pouring melt 2. Container 2 has surfaces 6 and 8 defining walls "a" shaped in conformance with casting 3 having cylindrical core 4 and wide flange 5. Walls "a" of container 1 have core and flange junction forming zone 12 of thickness equal to 0.5-0.6 of diameter of core 4. Portion 13 of outer surface 8 of container 1 in flange forming zone 14 has angle of inclination preventing drops from separation from container walls.
