PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller of a permanent magnet synchronous motor, whereby the position of its magnetic pole is estimated to enable it to start without reverse rotation, even though no positional sensor of its magnetic pole is mounted on it. SOLUTION: In the stationary state of a permanent magnet synchronous motor, the response times of the step-responses of its currents are measured at a plurality of electric angles. Since its inductance value becomes small by the effects of the saturation of its magnetic flux near its magnetic pole to make short its response time and conversely, its inductance value becomes large in a direction opposite to the position of its magnetic pole to make long its response time, searching for the electric angle in the opposite direction to the position of its magnetic pole, whereat its response time becomes the longest, 180 deg. is added/subtracted to/from the obtained electric angle for estimating the resultant electric angle value as the positional value of its magnetic pole. |
