PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a good carrier free from defects in the resin coating by spray- coating a layer of magnetic material particles in horizontal revolving motion with a coating fluid from the rear for the progress direction of the revolution to form silicone resin coatings on the surfaces of the magnetic material particles, drying the coating fluid and carrying out the following steps in the presence of nonmagnetic material particles. SOLUTION: Composite magnetic material particles and zirconia beads of the required particle diameter are put in a coating apparatus, a plate-shaped rotating body is rotated and a heated gap air flow is introduced. The composite magnetic material particles revolving in a rope form are sprayed with a coating fluid from the side of the apparatus and from the rear for the progress direction of the revolution to form silicone resin coatings on the surfaces of the particles. The coating fluid on the particles is then dried while blowing only compressed air from a two-way nozzle. After heat treatment for the required time, the zirconia beads are separated with a drum type magnetic separator and crushing and sieving are carried out. The plus sieve is removed and the objective silicone resin coated carrier is obtd. |
