PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a memory system capable of properly reducing power supplied from a built-in battery which may be uselessly consumed. SOLUTION: In detecting the rotation of a spindle motor for a floppy disk device storing a memory device 10 in its inside from a signal outputted from a rotation detection part 11, an access detection circuit 14 transmits a signal indicating the rotation of the motor to a control circuit 13. The control circuit 13 receiving the signal judges whether a part of power supply from a coin type battery 16 is stopped or not, and when the power supply is stopped, power supply from the stopped battery 16 is restarted. When the rotation of the spindle motor is not detected, the circuit 13 judges whether time more than a previously determined period from the end of a data access has elapsed or not, and when the time has elapsed, stops a part of power supply from the battery 16. |
