PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an erroneous interpretation when image information is transmitted by means of a channel with an error by extending a COD field and coding an image by means of expressing that none of MV and DCT has been coded, both of them have been coded and only MV has been coded. SOLUTION: One bit of the COD field is extended so that a probability for decoding erroneous COD information is reduced, and also data which are coded by a small amount compared with the existing one are generated with respect to the image by which information is expressed adequately and moreover only by a movement vector. Therefore, the COD fields are made into a two-bit table. That is, when two bits are 11, this represents that none of MC and DCT has been coded. When they are 00, this represents that both of them have been coded. When they are 01, this is represents that only MV has been coded. |
