PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost without impairing the reliability of an optical member by housing the optical member having a light emitting element emitting a light beam and a light receiving element on which a return light is made incident in the recessed part or the hole provided in a base member and also sealing the recessed part or the hole with a transparent sealing member. SOLUTION: This optical pickup device 10 is provided with a base member 11 constituting one part of a package for semiconductor element, a biaxial actuator 14 having a laser coupler 12 being an optical member packaged in the base member 11 and an objective lens 13, a mirror member 15 and a glass plate 16 being a sealing member for sealing the laser coupler 12. The recessed part in which the laser coupler 12 is housed and which constitutes the package for semiconductor element is provided in the base member 11 and the laser coupler 12 is housed in the part and the part is covered with a transparent glass plate 16 and the glass plate 16 is adhered to the base member 11 with adhesive 34. Thus, the reliability of the laser couple 12 is scured by preventing the occurrence of harmful effects due to dust and a mote or the like. |
