ATM CELL CONVERSION DEVICE AND METHOD FOR EXCHANGE SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To operate the communication network of a time divisional multiplex(TDM) system and the communication network of an asynchronous transmission(ATM) system in parallel by providing a plurality of trunk connection parts connected to the communication network of TDM system, an ATM connection part connected to the communication network of the ATM system and an ATM cell conversion part in ATM cell conversion device of an exchange system. SOLUTION: A series/parallel conversion part 10 converts series data/parallel data inputted via a plurality of trunks into parallel data/series data and outputs them into a plurality of trunks. A data multiplex/inverse multiplex part 11 time-divisionally multiplexes and outputs parallel data outputted from the series/ parallel conversion part 10 or inversely multiplexes data which is multiplexed time-divisionally and outputs it to the series/parallel conversion part 10. A data conversion part 12 stores time-divisionally multiplexed data outputted from the data multiplex/inverse multiplex part 11 in a memory part 15 or reads a stored cell and outputs it to the data multiplex/inverse multiplex part 11.
