PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the sound reproducing device which enables a person who has degraded in hearing ability to hear a sound signal with good articulation without making the total sound volume so large when the person is far away from a loudspeaker for reproduction. SOLUTION: A listener listens to a reference signal reproduced by a reference signal generating means 6, and then sets a minimum audible level to a level setting means 7 and also inputs an audition distance. According to them, an arithmetic means 9 calculates the maximum sound pressure level of an audio signal. An input signal, on the other hand, is divided into plural bands by a band-pass filter 2 and a level detecting means 7 detects signal levels. After an amplitude control means 4 controls the amplitude according to the minimum audible level, maximum sound pressure level, and the level of the input level, signals of the respective bands are added by an adder 5 and reproduced by the loudspeaker. |
