CAMERA PARAMETER ESTIMATING METHOD USING ORDER STATISTIC AND PROGRAM RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a camera hardly be affected by noises by calculating an error amount between images as what is the smallest among values that are in upperα% when differences in pixel values are arranged in order of magnitude and making a conversion parameter that minimizes the calculated error amount a camera parameter. SOLUTION: An image inputting part 11 receives a series of image data 15 photographed by a camera and a calculating part 12 calculates differences in each pixel value when two continuous images of the data 15 are shifted in the range of a prescribed search window. A histogram producing part 13 produces a histogram about the absolute value of the calculated difference. And, an error amount calculating part 14 makes what is the smallest among values that are in upperα% (0<α<100) an error amount and makes a conversion parameter that minimizes the error amount within a search range a camera parameter. Thus, it is possible to estimate the camera parameter without being affected by noises.
