The cutter positioner consists of a fixed support (59) to be fixed to the bone to be resectioned, a cutter guide (87), and a coupling for fitting the guide to the support. The guide can be pivoted manually relative to the support about two nonparallel i.e. orthogonal geometrical axes. One is perpendicular to the anterior-posterior plane of the tibia for tibial resection, and the second perpendicular to the medio-lateral plane.
