PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a household instrument reader which prevents the misunderstanding, the wrong input of data, etc., by an inspector, facilitates the accurate inspection and also eliminates the working and metal burdens of the inspector by optically reading to store the instrument number and the display contents of every household instrument. SOLUTION: An inspector who visited every household puts the reading part of a reader 10 close to the display part of a watt-hour meter which is installed in the household, reads the instrument number and the electric energy which are shown at every display part and stores these read data. A reading means 11 of the reader 10 scans the image shown at the display part of the watt-hour meter and reads the image as the image data. These image data are written into a ROM of a data storage means 12. Meanwhile, a CPU analyzes the number and the electric energy based on these image data and stores the number and the energy. Then the stored number and energy are outputted to a handy computer 20. At the computer 20, the CPU writes the inputted data into the ROM and an external storage means 21. |
