PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording tape of high electromagnetic conversion characteristics and excellent transport stability. SOLUTION: This magnetic recording tape is provided with a magnetic layer on one surface of a flexible supporting body and provided with a back coating layer on the opposite surface. In this case, the thickness of the back coating layer is within the range of 0.05-0.5μm and adhesion strength between the back coating layer and the supporting body is >=80 g/(8 mm width).
