PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the increase of the twisting linear speed by remarkably reducing the load acting on a twisting jig, and to improve the productivity of a SZ type optical fiber cable without improving a twisting device by forming a locus along the axial direction of a slot rod of a groove on the basis of the specific regulation. SOLUTION: A slot cod for a SZ type optical fiber cable is formed under a condition that the locus along the axial direction satisfies the formulas (I)-(IV). In the formulas, P is a pitch of a spiral, z is the displacement amount of the groove in the axial direction of the slot rod,ϕis a turning angle obtained when the groove is rotated in the circumferential direction of the slot rod during a time when the groove is moved from one turning position to the next turning position, andθis an angle between a perpendicular drawn from the groove to the axis of the slot rod and a line segment for dividing the turning angleϕequally into two. Whereby the load to the twisting jig in the turning position of the groove can be remarkable reduced, so that the twisting jig is not damaged even when the twisting linear speed is increased, and the productivity can be improved.
