<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cold cathode tube lighting apparatus capable of preventing consequent unevenness of brightness distribution in the case mercury distribution in a cold cathode tube becomes uneven or correcting the uneven brightness distribution and whose inverter part can easily be designed. SOLUTION: In this lighting apparatus, an inverter control circuit 3 controls an inverter 2 to control high frequency voltage waveform applied to a cold cathode tube 1 to move mercury atom of the tube in the direction in which the mercury distribution becomes even in the case an operation amplifier 40 which sends an output difference to an inverter control circuit 3 by comparison of outputs of mercury distribution detecting means 41, 42. Consequently, the mercury distribution is made uniform and as a result, the brightness distribution is made even.</p> |
