PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the dispersion of filling weight or filling density caused by intermittent coating, removing adverse effects on the back surface attendant on compulsory remove of an active material layer, and to enhance the characteristics or safety of battery in the manufacturing process of the battery. SOLUTION: A battery is manufactured by the use of an electrode having an active material layer 5 intermittently formed on a current collector 1. Slurry, containing an active material, a binder, and an organic solvent, is continuously applied on a current collector 1 to form an active material layer 5. For example, a solvent capable of dissolving or swelling the binder is applied or sprayed to the part, corresponding to the intermittent part of the active material layer 5 to form a non-soldified part 5a. The non-solidified part 5a is removed by peeling off with a sticky material, applying an ultrasonic wave, air jet or the like to form an intermittent part 15 in the active material layer 5. |
