PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce light leakage without restraining fluorescent coating and electrode material and improve brightness by providing a regressing/reflecting means on the back surface side than a cavity and returning light leaked to the back surface side of light generated in the cavity to a pixel. SOLUTION: By adhering piled thin sealing glasses 6 via a transparent encapsulating resin 7 on a prism board 5 which has cube (prism) shaped patterns arranged along pixel arrangement direction on its surface, a regressing/reflecting layer 3 is formed. The encapsulating resin 7 is a material with a refractive index more than that of a prism plate 5, and using back surface glass board 2 formed, in such way a display panel is constituted. Light which leaked to the back surface side of light generated in a cavity 17 is reflected by a regressing/reflecting layer 3 twice or four times and returns in the original direction. This can improve the outgoing efficiency to a front surface and the brightness of a plasma display device 1. If a pattern pitch of the regressing/ reflecting layer 3 is set shorter than thickness of a bulkhead 13, reflected light will not return to different pixels. |
