PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the color reproducibility of the image display device which makes a color display without using any color filter by suppressing a phenomenon such that different colors are seen depending upon viewing directions. SOLUTION: A microlens array 4 converges red light R, green light G, and blue light B, color-separated by a diffraction lattice 3 to different optical-axis directions, on different pixels 14 of an image display panel 5. Then the red light R, green light G, and blue light B, which having been transmitted through the different pixels 14 of the image display device 5, are made incident on a diffusion plate 6 after converting the optical axes by a microlens array 22 to be parallel optical axes. |
