PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively lower the pH of a used developer by using a finishing soln. contg. reducing sugar which is at least one selected from the group consisting of monosaccharides and disaccharides. SOLUTION: The finishing soln. for a photosensitive planographic printing plate contains reducing sugar which is at least one selected from the group consisting of monosaccharides such as glucose and galactose and disaccharides such as lactose and maltose. The reducing sugar is preferably glucose, galactose or lactose and a combination of two or more such saccharides, preferably glucose, galactose and lactose may be used. The amt. of the reducing sugar is appropriately 1-20 wt.%, based on the total weight of the finishing soln. The finishing soln. is advantageously used at pH 3-12. |
