<p>Preparation of acetylene by calcium carbide (CaC2) hydrolysis, comprises: disposing, and stocking (2) CaC2 pieces to avoid moisturizing; in a generator (1) isolated from exterior, contacting CaC2 pieces with water, destocking, to get acetylene and lime out, where CaC2 pieces in bulk in the generator are controlled by stocking CaC2 e.g. in a silo, under a dry, in particular inert gas atmosphere, transporting (3) CaC2, under an ambient or dry gas atmosphere, from the storage to the generator (1) and introducing previously measured CaC2 reactants into the generator. An independent claim is included for an installation for the production of acetylene by calcium carbide hydrolysis, comprising means (2) of storage in bulk of CaC2, e.g. a silo, under the atmosphere of dry, in particular inert gas, means (3) of transport of CaC2 in bulk, taken in the means of storage, and sent towards the generator (1), and under an ambient or dry gas atmosphere, and means of measurement (7) of reactants of CaC2 taken, by means of introduction into the generator of the measured reactants, e.g. a hopper (8) placed to the entrance of the generator.</p> |
