Proof print producing process using laser-induced heat transfer

The proof print producing process involves the controlled heating of a surface layer by one or more laser jets of a laser printing head (2) and applying the controlled surface elements to a substrate (1a), using transfer foil (8) of band width (b) smaller than the substrate width (B). The foil is moved continuously. The laser head is also moved synchronously over the substrate width. The band width of the transfer foil is great enough to produce several illustration tracks (14) alongside each other, so that a new track can be used for each illustration.
