The invention relates to a method for immediately terminating radical polymerisation processes, according to which an inhibiting solution containing phenothiazine and at least 50 % (w/w) N-alkylpyrrolidone is added to a system undergoing free-radical polymerisation. The invention is characterized in that the inhibiting solution also contains p-methoxyphenol (MEHQ).
